Mathilda and Monique

In mid-September the weather forecast announced some pretty warm days, most likely the last ones for this year, I thought.  And so I decided to use this opportunity to meet Mathilda and Monique at a small lake for a few shots. Water always fascinates me. The more the better. I love the ocean and I often dream of having a boat and spending my time sailing the Seven Seas. But unfortunately I get easily see sick and so it was better to let the girls get into the water and me staying at the shore 🙂

I really like the results we got. Although, or maybe just because, the shots are so different. We started both shootings in the very late afternoon. The light was changing rapidly which resulted in quite different moods. In addition, some images were taken with a digital camera and some captured on film. But on all, whether inside or outside the water, my two lovely models where giving their very best and I appreciated this a lot 🙂

Images were taken with a Nikon F4 (1.8/105) on Acros 100 or Kodak Portra 160, a Contax 645 (2.0/80) on Kodak Portra 400, a Leica SL (M0.95/50) and a Sony Alpha 7 (Canon 1.2/85).

Wonderful contrast you b/w. I also love the great atmospheric light. Your models are very relaxed and on the same page with you artistically. Excellent images. May the New Year bring you much happiness and more success!

  2. Love these shots, technically perfect, great compositions and the post processing just blew my mind. I hope I can make photos like this too, as this is what good photography is !
